Function Centre Update

We've had some beautiful weddings here this season with all the brides and bridal parties looking exceptional. The lawns were all kept manicured and looked outstanding with the lovely trees shading the guests. Bookings have been very strong during the warmer months and we welcome your inspection of this fantastic multi-purpose venue. You can view TV advertisement here: http://youtu.be/JE0kqqQeJb8

Social Media

The TJC have both Facebook and Twitter accounts which we welcome members to Like and Follow. During the past year we have run several promotions and competitions through our social media channels, including marquee tickets to the Tamworth Cup, our Win a Race Name and Race Day competition (winners pictured below) and a popular Melbourne Cup Day promotion. Around the Track

On our website we have a section called "Around the Track" which features stories of the people and horses that make TJC truly the Capital of Country Racing. It is accessed under Racing / Around the Track and can be found here: www.tamworthjockeyclub.com.au/page31617/Around-The-Track.aspx. Track Rating System

The Australian Racing Board (ARB) has announced a new Australia-wide track rating system will be in place from December 1, 2014.

The ARB confirmed the new system of ten ratings would start at Firm 1 and go through to Heavy 10. The revised system removes the terms ‘Fast’, ‘Dead’ and ‘Slow’ replacing them with ‘Firm’ and Soft’ while also retaining the terms ‘Good’ and ‘Heavy’.

Changes made to the system will be retrospective, meaning that for example previous tracks rated Dead 4, will be reflected as Good 4 in form guides.

Rating               Numerical             Description of numerical rating

Firm                       1                        Dry hard track
